Maj. Gen. (res.) Avraham Rotem (Ph.D. candidate, Bar-Ilan University) is a Senior Research Associate at the Begin-Sadat Center. A twenty-year veteran of the IDF, he was head of the army's training branch and a member of the General Staff. In the 1973 war, he was one of the leading tank commanders on the Golan Heights, and received the IDF's highest award for bravery. Gen. Rotem also served as Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Rafael, the Defense Ministry's weapons development authority. Specialization: Security arrangements and regimes, IDF force structure and the future Mideast battlefield. |
