Prof. Shmuel Sandler (Ph.D. Johns Hopkins University) is a Senior Research Associate at the BESA Center, incumbent of the Sara and Simha Lainer Chair in Democracy and Civility Chair, director of the Center for International Communications and Policy and chairperson of the Department of Political Studies at Bar-Ilan University. He has been a Visiting Professor at Concordia, British Columbia and Johns Hopkins Universities. Specialization: Israeli-Palestinian conflict, religion and party politics in Israel, US-Israel relations and the determinants of Israeli foreign policy.
