EXIT LEVEL EXAMINATIONS

Exit level examinations reflect the exit criteria of the EFL advanced level courses. Upon completion of the advanced course, the student is expected to read and comprehend academic texts in English. The student should be able to cope with texts which are conceptually abstract and linguistically complex.

The texts of the exit-level examinations are of general content suitable for students in all disciplines. Texts are chosen according to the following guidelines:

o        Text Content
Selected from reputable academic journals.

o        Text Difficulty
Determined on the basis of structural variables, contextual variables and syntactical variables, i.e. length of text, level of abstractness, rhetorical structure, level of vocabulary, and level of syntactic complexity.
