FAQ: The following is a list of some problems that have occured with some
of our users and how to resolve them.
1. My computer has Windows 7 or Vista and I cannot run the
program.

2. I try to run the Responsa program and I get the error message -
"Error no. 9: I/O error (Input/Output)".

3. I finished a successful install of the Responsa Project on Windows
XP, and when I try to run the program I cannot see the Hebrew -
for example in the text tree, to enter Hebrew words in the search.

4. I try to copy from the Responsa Project into Word XP or
Word 2003 and I get Arabic or some other foreign language.

5. I am working with the Responsa Plug Version and when I try to run
the program I get the error message "Hasp not found (15 or 129)"

program I get "Error no. 28".

Resolutions
Question 1: My computer has Windows
7 or Vista and I cannot run the program.
Answer 1: Please download our patch for this problem and overwrite the
old ".exe" file found in the directory you installed the program, for
example - "C:\Program
Files\ResponsaCDXX".

Question 2: I try to run the Responsa program and I
get the error message - "Error no. 9: I/O error (Input/Output)".
Answer 2: Please click on the "More detailed
information" button.

If the problem is in "responsa.ext" then remove that file (it is
found in the "Data" folder where you installed the program or use the Windows
search to find it)

If the problem is in "file00.xxx", try to reinstall the program as
follows: Create a new folder, copy both CDs to this folder, and install from the
newly created folder using "setup.exe". If during the copying process there is
an error message, you must contact us and we will replace your CD.

Question 3: I finished a successful install of the
Responsa Project on Windows XP, and when I try to run the
program I cannot see the Hebrew - for example in the text tree, to enter Hebrew
words in the search.
Answer 3: Add the "Hebrew Add In" to your Windows (it
is found in the Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - Languages then
go to Details and then press Add). You must have your original Windows XP CD in
order to add this feature.

Answer 4: Add the "Hebrew Add In" to your Microsoft
Office program (it is found in Start - Programs - Microsoft Office Tools -
Microsoft Language Settings). Add Hebrew to the list of available languages. You
must have your original Office CD in order to add this feature.

download the latest Hasp driver and install it.

Question 6: I am working in Windows 98 or in Windows ME and when
I run the program I get "Error no. 28".
Answer 6: Usually it is a font problem and the user
has installed more fonts than Windows allows. Please go to the Control Panel -
Fonts. Try and open any random font and see if it looks OK. If you cannot see a
font properly, we suggest you get rid of your excess fonts until you can view a
font properly. If this does not resolve the problem, uninstall and reinstall the
Responsa program,
If this does not work, please contact us with your information of what the
problem is and your CD ROM serial #.

Question 7: I am using the Network Version of the Responsa or
Cotar programs, and when I try to run the program I get the message "HASP not
found (155 or 129 or 15) " or "No answer from NETHASP license manager".
Answer 7: Check that the plug is connected to the
server, download the latest license manager, and install it as a service. Be aware
that Port 475 (TCP and UDP) must be allowed.

Answer 8: The following is a list of older Versions of our software
that we can no longer support and require the user to upgrade:
- Chavruta Version 2
- Ozrot Yisrael Version 1
- Responsa Version 14 or lower
