The
Faculty of Jewish Studies at Bar-Ilan University is the largest
of its kind in the academic world.
The Faculty engages in research and teaching in the various
fields of Judaism and other disciplines relevant to Jewish studies.
The Faculty, offering a diversity of ca. 1,500 courses and programs
taught by a faculty of 300 members, is divided into 14 departments,
21 research institutes and centers, and 28 chairs.
About 2,000 students are enrolled in the Faculty, studying for
B.A (majors), M.A, and Ph. D. degrees. An additional 1,500 B.A.
students majoring in other subjects supplement their studies
with Faculty programs and courses. In addition, 16,000 students
from all university faculties study at the Schulman Center for
Basic Jewish Studies.
The Faculty of Jewish Studies has its own central library as
well as separate departmental libraries, a multimedia laboratory,
a computer room, and a language laboratory.
