- The focus of this introductory course is twofold. The first goal is to theoretically examine the principles and applications of the mathematics of finance known as the time value of money. Specific topics addressed include the determination of the present and future values of single sums, annuities, perpetuities, uneven cash flows, multi-period compounding, bond valuation, and bond yields. The second goal is to familiarize the students with financial applications of the abovementioned theories.

- This course is designed for MBA students, (Current and future CEOs, CIOs, or members of senior management). Our goal is that when you face decisions that are overtly related to IT, you will be able to make better decisions that will increase the chances of success. Moreover, when you are thinking about a business goal that is not obviously related to IT, you will be able to identify how IT management may help you achieve it. We will accomplish this by allowing you to practice your decision-making. We will direct you, but you will do most of the reading by yourself. In addition, the course is based on case studies, in which we place ourselves into the shoes of decision-makers, argue for a course of action, and learn from their experience. Also, the course emphasizes a number of recurring themes that arise in many information technology decisions. If these concepts are internalized, your IT-related decisions will be improved.
Business Ethics

- This course introduces students to the relevance and importance of ethics and social responsibility in business. Important learning objectives are to increase students' awareness and understanding of ethical issues in business, and to provide students with useful conceptual tools to guide analysis and decisions. Particular emphasis will be placed on maintaining managerial relevance by blending concepts in the disciplines of management, law, and ethics with readings and cases. The ultimate intent of the course is to leave students better equipped to identify, think critically about, and resolve ethical issues that are encountered in one's working life at the individual, organizational, and societal levels.
Principles of Marketing

- We will discuss the topics outlined below both in a theoretical context and practical context. The theoretical context is largely based on the Marketing textbook by Kerin, Berkowitz, Hartley & Rudelius (7th Edition). For the practical context we will use a number of Case Studies to illustrate how the theoretical principles are used in practice. Hopefully you will be able to contribute your own personal experiences where possible. We will start with a role play to identify the principles of the marketing philosophy - leading to the marketing mix (Product, Price, Promotion and Place).
International Marketing

This course will arm you with the tools necessary for analyzing and dissecting real cases in international marketing. Tools such as competitive strategy, market research and segmentation, different kinds of foreign market entry and marketing mix strategies will be applied to different markets, let it be to a mature or a developing market.
Investments

- This course builds on the basic concepts that were introduced in the "Principles of Finance" course and is split into three main sections. First, the investments environment is introduced. In the second part, we learn about fundamental finance theories such as CAPM, investments portfolios, etc. In the last part we discuss option pricing and investment strategies using options. Emphasis is on understanding the theory and applying the techniques.
Financial Accounting

- The course is designed to provide users of accounting products with the foundations of accounting concepts, mechanics, and a perspective upon which intelligent use of accounting information rests. The course focuses on typical financial statements along with the environment in which they are produced and used. The student will learn to identify, measure and record economic events, and then study how to prepare the primary financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows). They will examine specific assets, liabilities and owners' equity accounts. Finally, the students will learn how to read, understand and analyze financial statements. In depth consideration will be given to revenue recognition and other judgmental accounting issues.

Financial Tools for Risk Management

- The focus of this course is the management, using financial tools, of two sources of risk: interest rate risk and currency risk. Depending on the objective of the firm, hedging or insurance, several ways of achieving one of them will be analyzed. Although the main focus is on using financial tools, some attention will be given to the standard models used in financial institutions for pricing such tools.
International Economics

- The goal of this course is for the student to acquire an understanding of the international economy. We will begin with the macroeconomic side of international economics: the balances of payments, and the movement of exchange rates. Some of the questions we will discuss are whether large trade deficits are problematic, what factors influence the movement of nominal interest rates, and how does inflation affect the competitiveness of a country's exports. Afterwards we will examine the microeconomics aspects of international economics: the Ricardian model of international trade, international trade with imperfect competition and government intervention in international trade. Some of the issues that we will discuss in this section of the course are the benefits of international trade, the factors that determine which goods a country exports or imports, the influence of firms' size and history in international trade, strategic trade policy and who benefits and who loses from government intervention in international trade.

The focus of this course will be to bring you through an overview of this industry: technological, clinical, regulatory, legal, and of course financial. As we explore the commercialization of biopharmaceuticals as well as medical devices, we will use corporate, investment, and entrepreneurial perspectives. In addition, the course is designed to compare and contrast the state of the industry globally to that in Israel today. This course will be mostly a seminar format with introductory lectures and open discussions. It is founded on a principle to teach the basics but to be very practical, a course that from which you can gain some "take-home" lessons should you decide to enter this exciting sector.
