Rosh Ha-Shana Greetings from the President of Bar Ilan University

With the coming of the New Year, I wish all those staff members who have, throughout the years, contributed of their knowledge and wisdom in the various disciplines to the weekly Torah portions a year of good health.

The Jewish People has been through a difficult year in terms of security, and has lost many of its finest. May the New Year bring an end to our sufferings and signify the beginning of a new year filled with blessings.

This year we celebrated the presentation of the 500th Torah portion in the Bar Ilan Parashat Hashavua series. This achievement testifies to the devotion of those involved in this important enterprise who deserve a warm yasher koah. This month also saw the publication of the book Mi-Perot ha-Ilan al ha-Mo'adim. [Editor's note: The English volume, A Divinely Given Torah, vol.II, appeared several months ago.] May these books instill the public with a love for Torah, and let this be our reward.
