Countering the Campaign to Boycott Israeli Universities
The UK University and College Union (UCU) has distributed its initial motions document to branches on 5/4/07, including four policy motions that have a direct impact on the academic boycott issue.
These motions will be debated between May 29th and June 1st 2007 at UCU's first Annual Congress.
The UCU (now numbering 120,000 members) was created by the merger of the previous unions - Natfhe and AUT, whom both passed boycott resolutions in the past (that were either reversed or nullified).
A Counter-Boycott document has been prepared by Dr. Jonathan Rynhold, intended to assist academics and others in arguing against the campaign to boycott the Israeli academia. The aim is to mobilize British and other academics to publicly oppose the boycott.
