The Kramer Research Library

The late Professor Samuel Noah Kramer, a former Curator of the Babylonian Tablet Collection at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania, and a leading authority on Sumerian literature and culture, bequeathed his research library to the Institute. The library was received by the Institute in 1991, in in the subsequent years it was catalogued. The library includes around 2000 scholarly research books and periodicals; a collection of about 2000 photographs of cuneiform tablets (mostly of Sumerian literary texts); and over 1500 offprints of scholarly articles.
