Educational Initiatives BINA places great importance on investing in education programs. Its diversity and innovation have positioned BINA as a highly attractive institution for the training of up-and-coming researchers and professionals in the field of nanoscience. The sheer size of the BINA learning community—now totaling 398 MSc and PhD candidates—testifies to its overall educational success. BINA’s successful and dynamic educational environment is a major factor in attracting and retaining postdoctoral researchers and junior scientists. The number of academicians in this category has remained largely stable in recent years. BINA’s total research community is continuing to grow and this year even crossed the threshold of 600, reaching 606 individuals in 2021, the highest level since the institute’s founding. This is a clear indication of BINA’s success and continued expansion. Graduate and Undergraduate Students As a research institute, BINA includes MSc and PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows. We also offer a summer scholarship to encourage outstanding undergraduate students to work in our researchers’ laboratories and thus expose them to advanced research. The institute attracts excellent graduate students who participate in studies at the forefront of their fields, thanks to research groups headed by leading PIs; the Excel@BINA scholarship, an excellence scholarship funded by BINA; and the institute’s international connections, which enable advanced-degree candidates to participate in student exchange programs with other institutions.
