Dr. Danielli Amos Faculty of Engineering Member of BINA Nano-Medicine & Nano-Magnetism Center Research Areas • Rapid and highly sensitive detection of biomarkers, such as proteins and specific DNA sequences • Detection of protein-protein interactions • Magnetic manipulation of nanoparticles, design of magnetic poles, magnetic force optimization Abstract OPTICAL IMAGING AND BIOSENSING We develop high-sensitivity, point-of-care (POC) methods to detect and measure low concentrations of biomarkers. Clinical adoption of our devices could spur development for other medical applications that could benefit from point-of-care, high sensitivity biomarker detection, including detection of head injuries biomarkers, viruses, etc. Magnetic modulation biosensing (MMB) system combines magnetic and fluorescent labeling to measure ultra-low biomarker concentrations, allowing rapid and sensitive detection.
