He has over 270 peerreviewed articles in print, which were cited nearly 9,150 times and has published many book chapters on various aspects of nanoparticles and functional thin coatings. He was awarded about 75 national and international research grants and has about 40 patents and patent applications. Prof. Margel was instrumental in establishing and running the new agro-nanotechnology center in the Volcani Institute of Agriculture & Food and serves as a chairman on the agro- nanotechnology committee of the Agriculture Office of Israel. Recently, he has also received the VEBLEO, VSET Nano Innovation Award for his innovative research in the fields of nanomedicine, nanomaterials and nanotechnology.
