40 BINA Equipment Center A Hub for Research and Industrial Partnerships The new collaboration, initiated this year, is a joint project in the field of archaeology. Together with Amit Dagan from the Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology, we have started a project that employs a comprehensive analytical approach. This involves integrating diverse techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), Particle-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Our tailored methodology aims to uncover intricate details about historical artifacts and materials. Through the synergistic use of these analytical tools, our goal is to unravel the mysteries surrounding archaeological finds at the Tel Qana site with unprecedented precision, offering new insights into the history and context of ancient civilizations. Crucially, the facilities of BINA’s Characterization Unit streamline our operations, allowing us to conduct all measurements under one roof. This centralized capability is integral to the success of the project.
