Prof. Nessim Gilbert Daniel Department of Chemistry Member of BINA Nano & Advanced Materials Center Nano-Energy Center Research Areas Synthesis of 1D & 2D nanostructures Abstract Using state-of-the-art chemical vapor deposition (CVD) systems, the Nessim lab can synthesize 1D carbon nanostructures (carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and carbon nanofibers mats (CNFs)), 2D carbon nanostructures (CVD quality graphene, graphene oxide (GO) reduced GO (rGO)), and non-carbon bulk layered materials (e.g., metal sulfides, phosphides, selenides, and tellurides). The synthesized nanomaterials can be used in many applications including energy storage (batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells), electronic devices, medical devices, composite materials, etc.
