2nd Annual Sphere Conference

We are honored to invite you to the second annual SPHERE Conference in Israel.

This multidisciplinary conference provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest research in diabetes and obesity. The lectures will include:

  • Prof. Naim Shehadeh: on groundbreaking innovations in obesity treatment
  • Prof. Omry Koren: the role of the microbiome in pregnancy, gestational diabetes, and lactation
  • Dr. Afif Nahle: an overview of cardio-renal protection in diabetes patients
  • Dr. Sivan Spitzer: the role of health units in local authorities in the world of diabetes and obesity

In addition, there will be multidisciplinary sessions that include various lectures on treatment, prevention, and management of diabetes, including prevention of complications, environmental interventions, health inequalities in the social and economic periphery, ethical issues, nursing, nutrition, and basic research.

Alongside the main conference program, professional exhibitions and scientific poster displays will be held, and the Israeli Guide to Diabetes Treatment will be distributed.

About the SPHERE of Diabetes 

In 2021, the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University launched a groundbreaking strategic initiative in the Galilee called the Russell Berrie SPHERE of Diabetes.

The research initiative for personalized social medicine that promotes health equity, called SPHERE Diabetes - or SPHERE:

Social Precision Medicine Health Equity Research Endeavour

A project that deals with multidisciplinary research and implementation by scientists in the fields of biology, medicine, social sciences, and humanities to promote health in the face of the challenges of diabetes and obesity in the Galilee.
