Israel Institute Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship AY 2026-2027

The Israel Institute’s Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship offers recent PhDs in Israel Studies and related fields the opportunity to gain postdoctoral experience while teaching courses about Israel at top-tier North American universities. This prestigious fellowship supports the development of Israel-related courses and strengthens academic partnerships between Israeli scholars and institutions abroad.

Fellowship Duration and Terms:
Length: THREE academic years

Applicants must have a fully conferred doctoral degree prior to July 31 of the year in which they begin their placement.
Candidates must demonstrate strong expertise in Israel Studies, broadly defined to include politics, history, society, culture, law, and more.
Applicants must have excellent English language skills.
Fellows must not currently hold tenure-track positions.

Your dissertation abstract in English
A list of courses you have taught or could teach about Israel
Two course outlines. You will be asked to select two courses from a list that we will provide and, for each course, provide a course description and ten specific topics you would cover if you were to teach the course.
