A New Israeli Stamp in Honor of 70 Years of Research and Impact
Robotics, brain research, women’s rights advocacy, and support for IDF reservists: Bar-Ilan University marks 70 years of advancing science and society

Bar-Ilan University celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. Over the decades, the University has achieved remarkable milestones and left a significant mark on science, academic research, and society. To commemorate this important milestone—and with an eye toward future achievements—Israel Post’s Philatelic Service has issued a unique celebratory stamp. Designed by Ronen Goldberg, the stamp symbolizes the University’s extraordinary journey from its founding in 1955 to its status today as the third-largest university in Israel, with 22,000 students.
Remarkable Growth: Israel’s Fastest-Growing University in the Past Seven Years
Over the last seven years, Bar-Ilan has recorded the highest growth in student enrollment of any university in Israel. Today, Bar-Ilan operates ten faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine in Safed, successfully combining academic excellence with social pluralism.

Recently, the University was honored by Israel’s Ministry of Defense with the Defense Minister’s Shield Award for its outstanding support of reservists studying at the University.
A Stamp Reflecting Innovation and Excellence
The new stamp, valued at 4.50 NIS, features elements representing the University’s wide range of research disciplines, its lush green campus, and its iconic central tower. A matching commemorative envelope and gift box have also been designed.
