Additional degree requirements
Degree eligibility is conditional upon reaching exemption-level English.
Students must reach exemption level in English by the end of the 2nd (calendar) year of study.

Degree eligibility is conditional upon reaching exemption-level Hebrew writing skills.
Students must reach exemption level in Hebrew writing by the end of the 2nd (calendar) year of study.
Your degree requirements include Basic Jewish Studies as indicated in the Rules and Regulations of the School for Basic Jewish Studies.
English language content courses are required during the degree for students who began their studies in the 2021-22 academic year or later.

Students who do not complete their 64 annual hours (128 academic credits) through departmental requirements and in Basic Jewish Studies, must take General Studies courses to complete the minimum 64 hours for their degree.
Non-Jewish students are exempt from Basic Jewish Studies but are instead required to take 10 annual hours (20 credits) of General Studies courses.

Sexual harassment training is required for all degree programs
All students in all degree programs (bachelor’s / master’s / PhD) are required to carry out the online sexual harassment prevention training.
Obtaining your degree is contingent on completing this requirement.
The registration system automatically signs up first year undergraduate students for this online training (it is held once a week on Sundays).
The training software will appear in your course list in the learning management system (Moodle).
Departmental guidelines indicate special requirements and/or announcements on faculty/departmental changes in curricula.
Be sure to read the guidelines of your faculty/department.
Students who have proof of prior courses that could exempt them from required courses at Bar-Ilan are requested to submit their exemption request as soon as possible to obtain Bar-Ilan recognition of those studies.
Students who do not make those arrangements may encounter problems when registering via In-Bar, as the system cannot automatically recognize prior studies.
Submitting a request for exemptions:
- Undergraduate degree – via a request form to the Status Office.
- Master’s degree –via a request form to the School of Graduate Studies*
*For Basic Jewish Studies (master’s degree) via request to School for Basic Jewish Studies per policy specified here.
Students must pay the advance payment for the academic year prior to course registration. Without making the advance payment, registration will not be possible; students may lose their right to register in their allotted registration window.
You can see if your payment was received on the home page of In-Bar under ‘TimeTables’ (on the right)
- If you are not interested in social services, you must submit a social services fees waiver request before the official opening date of the academic year, October 23, 2025.
- Students in special programs that begin in the spring or summer semesters may submit the social services waiver request form until the first day of their program/course.
